Default How To: Fogs/Driving Lights With High Beams

hey guys, im back with another little write up!

This write up is to help anyone that thinks their driving lights are too bright, and need to be switched on and off with their highbeams.

This wiring diagram illustrates how to set up any aux lights to be:

OFF with lows

ON with highs

ON with parking lights

All the above using the factory foglight switch. (and no extra wiring through the firewall)

The 9007 application is for 2002/2003 iirc. Any other years can use the lowbeam switched ground from whatever type of connector your MY has

Keep in mind that what you just did ONLY will work with an 02-03. Subaru changed the way the headlight wiring works every time they changed the headlight shape.

This won't work for an 04+ at all.

what are the major differences between 02/03 and 04/05s (besides the split high low beam bulbs)

haha thanks handsdown

i feel like i spent too much time on them (probably a good 25 mins)

let me tell you, it was definitely a relief to figure out this wiring. i hated having to hold my hand on the fog switch while driving these windy PA back roads.

if you have some time i would suggest trying to do this set up. its awesome.

o yeah ff1000s ftw.

The 9007 plug, which way are you looking? or, which ground are you showing, high or low? I take it low.

Also, doesn't the factory foglight switch only get power when the low beams are on? and kills the foglight relay when the highbeams are on?
