Default looking for a sporty muffler, not a ricer muffler

Anyone know of any good sporty sounding mufflers that dont take to mush work to make fit..I dont really want a stainless, polished with 4" tip ricer muffler....

Nor do i want to pay 400$...i could buy a dual hedder back exhaust in stainless with 2 mufflers for my camaro for less than 400$

yes, the stromung is nice. Not loud at all, can barely even tell you have an aftermarket untill you notice the slight you gain you get in HP but not sacrifice noise

Wait, your profile says you have a 96 Impreza, which means you have either a 2.2l or 1.8l not the 2.5l, so that means your pretty much screwed when it comes to aftermarket exhausts unless you want to spend even more money modifying the exhaust to fit after you buy it...

Perhaps a Brospeed . I have one on a 01 Forester. Some sound...little power...non intrusive at highway speeds....stainless cat back.
Bought mine used for a couple hundred. It was for a 2.5 RS but bolted right up with a some rubber donut changes. It is about 2" shorter than it could be be has no issues with heat on bumper. Also have a CAI which IS a source of noise when I get on the go pedal.

Hope this helps.............

i would say stromung or brullen, but if you're looking to spend under $400...i'd say you're going to have a hard time finding much of anything. welcome to the wonderful world of limited aftermarket.

i've got the prodrive system on my car, which sounds like it would be exactly what you're looking for, except on the price side of things...

pics.

You can order the Borla stainless steel cat-back from http://www.spomotorsports.com/ for $365. It looks good, sounds good, and it fits a 2.2L Impreza.

Custom is the way to go. Best bang for the buck. Find a muffler you like, find a place that can fabricate a 2.25" piping from the cat back. My wife got hers done for $180...

What kind of muffler did your wife use? How does it sound? Is 180 the total price or just for the custom job?

Thumbs up Custom Hell YA

Yep,

My exhaust is custom too, it's amazing what your dealer friends can pull off with a torch, only paid $30 (but prolly only because I know him) it sounds great, nice and loud and it has a nice pitch to it.

I have a Borla cat back exhaust system too. I got mine from Larry Ganz http://www.imprezars.com . I really like it. Nice tone, not too loud, not too quiet, nice power gains, looks somewhat normal i.e. no canister. All in all, not a bad value at all.

I had a custom Supertrapp setup done for my 1.8, nice adjustability, and the sound is great.

Ok

Stromung or Brullen then. With Brullen though, you can pick between "Quiet" "Medium" or "Loud!" so thats a bonus.

She got a flowmaster, but whatever you like will do. $180 for everthing, including the muffler...

I have a borla catback on my 95 2.2 L. It sounds pretty good but its not like the stromung or scoobysport. I got it through Larry for ~$350. It has a 4" angle cut, rolled edge tip which i dont really care for so im going to have it cut off and put on a smaller one. My first thought after I started it the first time was "God-what have i done?" It sounded ricey at first but after ~1000 miles it deepened and sounded more agressive.
