Unhappy One less bugeye WRX on the road.

I was heading back to the office with my lunch. I stop at an intersection and wait for my light to turn green. I am entering the intersection to go straight across it. There is someone across from me who pulls out a little into the intersection and then she starts weaving. I am confused so I look over to see why she is doing this. Just then, WHAM! Some douchebag apparently thinks that the red light that was red for a LONG time is optional and also he must have been doing at least 50 in a 35. It spun me 90 degrees, deployed both airbags and after he hit me he continued on to go over a concrete median and about 100 yards down the road before finally coming to a stop. I got checked out and nothing is wrong internally, just some abrasions on my arm from the airbag and my back is a bit bruised. I never talked to the other driver, and that is probably a good thing as I probably would have went off on him. A witness told me he had a pretty messed up knee but other than that, he was okay. Unfortunately, the two witnesses that the police interviewed were of no help. They recalled things incorrectly. For example, one said the guy was turning. Right, with that much damage and him ending up 100 yards down the road after the hit, he was turning? So, I hope the police report does show that he ran the red, but I'm not sure it will. I'm not exactly sure what to do at this point. I want his insurance company to pay off my car, my hospital bills, and at least give me enough for a decent down payment for a new car. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this at this point?

CN: Jackass runs red light, totals my 2002 WRX.

Pics of the carnage:

Around 86,000. And yeah, that is the important thing is that the car kept me okay. I'm just trying to figure out how to get into another car now.

honestly your insurance company should handle this - its what you pay them for.

auction values are ok so make sure they're offering the proper amounts

That does look like a shat all over the seat. They put down some sawdust or something to soak up coolant and whatnot off the street. Then when they were shoveling pieces of my front end off the street, they just threw it all into the car, along with the sawdust that soaked up coolant and whatever else. I'd be pissed if I thought there was any chance it wasn't going to be totaled.

I think it was a Chevy Trailblazer, or something equivalent in size.

It does have a UTEC that will be coming out of it though, if you want dibs on that. It's got an overpriced piece of garbage for a shifter too, which will probably be coming out as well.

Damn another Sedona Red out of the picture. Glad your okay though. Hopefully the insurance company will work things out in your favor so you can get up and running in a hurry. This also just solidifies my reason for feeling safe in a WRX.
