Default Quick Question about HID wiring. i searched already.

i read maybe 30 different threads before finally deciding to post. i already disabled my drl's. now i just need to put in the new headlights and wire the HIDs.

everything is pretty forward but what do i do with these prongs? i know im going to need power and and a ground but where EXACTLY do i place these. ive read different things about not grounding. i just want to make sure i have everything straight before doing it and blowing something. i circled the things im talking about

Those are the wires that power the ballast and bulb. inside your headlight, the plug that was on your old bulb.... those plug into that. You probably want to make a wiring harness with a relay to draw power off your battery and not the oem wiring.

you need to fill out your profile so that we know what type of car you drive.

THEN we can help you with wiring.

Ninja edit: .... duhhhhh, you drive a bugeye. haha my bad

just so you know, you dont have highbeams anymore.

the red prong is going to go into the center terminal of the stock headlight plug. the black is going to go into the right hand side terminal. (this is when the round part is facing up, if i am not mistaking)

this should only be temporary. you really need to use a relay to power the ballasts.

okay i put everything together after using a grinder to make the prongs fit (they were too wide originally) everything works but id like to go a different route maybe use a special harness just to be safer. where can i get one at?

also right now my highbeam light on my gauge cluster is lit, not all the way but lit enough that it seems like its on.

thanks for all the help.

pm lightwerkz, he can build you a harness. he does awesome work.

as for the highbeam light, do you have your DRLs removed? if i remember correctly, completely disabling the DRLs will get rid of the light.
