Any idea how much we can save over the regular prices?

If the discount is decent, I'd be interested in a buying a set of either:
Toyo T1-S, (215/45R17)
or Firestone SZ50EP (215/45R17)

It depends on the savings...... I have of A520's on the wrx which should last me the summer and a used set of R compound which might last me half of the summer.....

If it's worth while.... I don't mind storing a set at my house till I really need them.

I am interested in the Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP in 215/45 R17 IFF the price is right.

Can you let me know how much these will cost with a "group buy" discount factored in. Thanks!

Hey wait a minute, STI RDY's SZ50EP cost more than the my quoted price for SZ50EP's even though they are the same size/model. Something fishy going on there.

What about shipping and taxes?

Is this GB only for Ottawa residents?

Otherewise...let me know the pricing for a set of Toyo T1's in 225/45/17 and bridgestone S03's in the same size.

I was planning on buying my tires from them anyhow, and if this gb goes through...shweeet.

WRxednEffect

I'd be interested in 225/45/17 S-03 if you could get them for around 1200$??? Maybe T1-S if we don't get enough people, but I'd rather get the S-03...

The Montreal Subaru club will do a group buy soon, maybe we should combine with them??

Thanks!

I'm local too...

I said I wanted 17's

Anyway, what is the price for 17 inch 215/45R17 T1-S?

If the price for the 215/45R17 Toyo T1-S is still $209, that would be a great deal that I would go for.

If he ships to us, don't we save the PST since it is an out of province purchase?

I suspect many of us don't need the tires until the snow is gone (one more month)

So, just to make things crystal clear.
I want either:
Toyo T1-S in 215/45 R17
or
Firestone SZ50EP in 215/45 R17

For myself, it depends....... The falkens can be driven in the rain but I'd be careful for not hitting puddles (may cause hydroplanning).....

If I buy the Falkens, I would use them more at the solo2 events (to get the 2% bonus) and the track..... and some street time.....

Otherwise, I'm going to buy R compounds and then some Kumho's 712s

Howard from Talon Tire was supposed to release a price list...... I remember Craig from MCO mentioned on the MCO board that Talon tire will be carrying them.....

We'll see.... prices will remain a factor though for myself.....

For the R compounds, if the 225-50-16's (used one) and I see I have major rubbing, I'll be then buying 205-55-16's..... but I won't know till Spring till I have them mounted and balanced on my RS rims.....

Late March would be preferable for myself.... I think Shipping would be easier.... I think Howard was saying it was around $12 per tire to ship..... So if we don't pay PST (out of province), then we wouldn't need to go pick them up....

But he also said, if there was enough in purchases, Talon Tire could make a run down to Ottawa and have a delivery spot where people could come and get their tires.... but I don't know if we were charged both taxes.... Ask them and see what's available.....

I'm with Robin,
late March would be preferable. Don't need to have brand spanking new tires sitting in my garage for a month, right?

Question quote please

I'd be interested in:

215/45/17 Toyo T1-S or
215/45/17 AVS Sport or
215/45/17 Potenza RE730 or
215/45/17 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712.

P.S: Matt why do you want to go 225?
I thought that 215 was recommended

p_seg,
225/45/17 is an optionnal size for the WRX, see www.tirerack.com.

Plus, look at the following calculator, it's almost a perfect match with the stock size of 205/55/16. There's no rubbing issue as well, I have 225/16 now... Plus you get a wider contact patch.

Matt

EDIT: Get the S-03, much better...

Any opinions on the Avon ZZ1 tire? I am not looking for a Z-rated
hyper-sticky tire, rather a good replacement for the RE-92s. I had
wanted to go to a 225-50-16 but think that at the expense of some top end will go with a 205-50-16 instead to avoid rubbing
problems with a set of Eibachs. I want the 50's for a stiffer
sidewall ( and have read several times that the Kuhmos aren't
all that stiff).

At 157 (before discount) doesn't look too bad.
