Default 90k service?

I just bought my 2002 WRX last night with 87,5xx miles and the mechanic we are taking it to for an inspection said that these cars need a BIG overhaul at about 90,000 miles. He said it could cost anywhere up to $2500 and would consist of timing belt, water pump, etc. Is this normal, or is he full of BS? Also what have you all gotten done at the 90k mark?

Thanks.
-Alex

Alex,

You are new so I'll be kind. READ all the sticky threads in each forum before posting. Had you done so, you'd already have your answer which is in http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=995498

Just give him $25,000 and tell him to bring back a whole new car.
