Default cleaned IACV prob

i just cleaned my IACV on my 02 wrx(stock) but after i started it up for the first time theres white smoke coming out the exhaust is this normal or is something wrong?? any info would help, thanks

i'd say it would be normal cause its probably just burning any cleaning residuethat was left in it

actually did you change the gasket cause if you didnt it might of broken and that white smoke could be coolant coming into your intake

did you use reuse the old gasket? Weird I just did that a few weeks back and I had no white smoke. Only after the inital start up there was slight hick-up that's it.

It is very important that the IACV gasket be properly seated and the IACV itself screwed down appropriately. If the gasket is torn, deformed (as old ones often are), or not properly seated (e.g., drive under vacuum without any boost for say 10 miles) you can get a) a boost leak, b) a vacuum leak, c) coolant flownig into the intake, or d) some combination of the above nasties.
