Original T-Belt?

I bought my 1998 Legacy Gt with the 2.5L N/A engine, it had 144k kms and has 150k now. The dealer said the Timing belt needs to be changed every 100k kms. I might be getting paranoid but: Do you think it is possible that i'm on the original belt still? Anyways of checking?

pull off the cover and see what it looks like, but... i've seen timing belts that appear to be in fairly good condition, except for the clean break.

My car has 150k KMs. it is recommended according to the Subaru maintenance site that it should be replace at 168k KMs, however should I send it in earlier like now to make sure everything will be okay?
