Default impact wrench

i just got a new impact wrench so i can start suspension work. never had a fancy inpact gun allways handtools.

i feel retarted but whats the trick to getting the socket on the gun?? it doesnt seem to go on.

i purchased a craftsman 1/2'' 400ft/lb and a set of metric deep socket 1/2'' ers.

do i need to hammer them on or something?

Impacts have a ring that are sometimes a bit large in diameter making it a pain. Do not be afraid to hit the socket on the impact with a hammer if needed. It may be easier in future use after you put on and remove sockets a few times. Good thing is that sears has a good satisfaction policy if you need to exchange or return it.

They are a PITA the first few time. I will usually smack it against the ground. No biggie.
