To see if the CB antenna is picking up the noise remove the antenna connector from the radio. If the noise goes away then it is being picked up by the antenna. If the noise is still present then it may be coming through the power system.

If the antenna is picking up the noise you might try placing some aluminum foil around the ballast transformer fot the lights. If the noise is being picked up through the power lead then you might try using a ferrite noise suppressor near the power input to the lights.

Cheap HID kits cause all kinds of problems but this is the first time I have heard of this. Those kits are not manufactured to any standards like the OEM parts are. It is possible to cause interference because of the high voltage created by the horrible $4 ballasts. Older ignition systems did this a lot.

Shielding the wires only will likely do nothing. You could try shielding the ballast and the wires going to the bulbs. It probably won't do anything though. If it were me I would throw the HID kit in the garbage and put some nice halogen bulbs in. If you really still want HIDs do a retrofit with OEM parts and projectors. This way you won't blind people, you have much better light output, and they will likely last longer than the car.

Did a 3 year old start this thread? I can't even understand what the question is here. Are you guys experiencing static on your CB radios from a drop in HID kit, or are you getting static on your regular stock radio? How are your kits wired up? Are they wired directly to the stock headlight wiring or have they been attached to the battery using a relay wiring harness?
