Default broken clips on black or weather strip?

Hi, I'm not sure what this piece of the car is called. weather stripping? black stripping? but anyways 3 of the clips broke and now it sticks up.

some of my friends are saying i only need to buy the 3 broken clips and they can fix it for me but the subaru dealership is telling me that i need to buy all 8 clips because they need to rip the whole thing apart and the labor is about 100$ CDN. but everyone knows that the dealerships try to rip you off.

so my question is, does anyone have experience fixing this? If so, please give me some tips

heres a pic of it

thanks

The strip isn't that hard to to take off...and you most certainly don't need to replace all of the clips if they're not broke. I ordered extra ones alittle while back and they weren't that expensive. People take the strip on the roof off to install their Yakima racks. Here's a good how-to that may help in you:

i two have the same problem due to my custom paint job which required removing the strips. not i have that flaming pink clip showing. it is rather easy to take the strip out. DIY for free, just take your time.

p.s. in the mean time i tape down the very end of the strip that actually runs under the trunk lid with like electrical tape, no one sees it and it doesn't annoy me as much when i can't see the pink clip. maybe it will help you too.

I'm not exactly sure how they broke off, i think it might be because water got in them and froze. we have some crazy weather here ( alberta , canada ).

the link shows how to remove black sliding clips. i tried sliding those clips in the picture but they are pretty rigid. should i just try to use more force? or is there another way to take them off.

thanks for the replies =)

it doesn't bother me that much but i just want to get it fixed hehe.
