Hey guys,
I am new at all of this stuff, and I need help. I have an intercooler (water to air) that I want to install on my car so I can up the boost ![]() I don't have the knowledge to install it by myself. Can anybody tell me of a good shop that could do it? Or, is there anybody who would be willing to help me do it? I can provide compensation if needed ![]() I am in Concord, NH. Thanks, Dave

Oops, just reread the post. Check out Exeter, from all I have heard about them, they seem to be one of the best Subaru dealerships in the US! Did the EJ22T in the legacy's not come with IC's??

I think the 94 Legacy Touring wagons are 2.2L turbos... Ort has posted asking about the intercooler before so I think he knows what it's for.
Anyways, to answer your question, I would think that the installation isn't extremely difficult. Do you have all the mounting hardware and piping as well? If so, it should just bolt on for the most part. Exeter Subaru might be willing to take on the install - others have recommended them in the past and they seem to have a decent reputation so far. But if you're willing to give it a shot yourself, I think some of the other NESIC members would be willing to help out too. -Edwin |

The USA spec legacy turbo did not come with an intercooler. The stock boost peaks at about 7 psi. so it really does not need one. I am planning on pushing the boost up a bit so I want to be getting some cooler air to the engine so I don't detonate.
Edwin: I have some of the tubing, but not all. Part of my problem is that I am not sure what 'all' is ![]() I will call Exeter for kicks and see what they say. I would rather do it myself though, cheaper and more fun ![]() |

I remember at last years CT meet there was a guy with a black Legacy turbo sedan who installed a Subaru intercooler. I don't know his name but I remember him saying that some of the tubing doesn't hook up to the engine? Maybe post on the Legacy forum or search the members in CT to locate the guy? Hope this helps.

I remember that guy. It was a black car with black and blue rims w/well worn P7000's. The intercooler came off a aircraft engine.
It is amazing what sticks in the head! ![]() Later, Seth E. |
