Default Post-retrofit problem

Recently had my JDM lights retrofitted by Caesar and they came out amazing! After installing the lights I noticed something odd....My DRL's work again all of a sudden!

Even when my lights are switched off, once the E-Brake is disengaged the lights kicked on, and my light switch is useless other than turning my indicators on. But E-brake engaged the lights are off but can turn them on with my switch.

Anyone who's retrofit come across this? My DRL's have been unplugged for 3 years and have gone through multiple headlight/HID setups and this has come up until the retrofit.

you didn't do the DRL mod correctly, you need to disconnect the switch under the glovebox, not the voltage regulator in the engine bay. search the faqs for how to do this.

i'd put all my chips on this being your problem. did you disconnect the silver thing in the engine bay on the strut tower, or did you disconnect the black plastic plug under the glovebox in the passenger foot well?

and it's because of the wiring, not the retrofit... but yeah. i will be astounded if this is not the case.

You very well could be right, my cousin did the DRL's like 4 years ago for me when I was still new to the subaru scene and only disconnected the regulator in the engine bay.

I'll definately report back

the connector is literally right above where i'd put my right foot if i were in the passenger seat, behind the trim piece. just open the glovebox, take it out, undo the screws on the trim, drop the trim down, and the plug should be real obvious right there... it should say "DRL" right on it. let us know!

Another curve ball, trying to disable behind the glovebox and referring to the picture in this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...079&p=10997214

That unit is not there at all I have the two to the left but not the DRL module.

very perplexing... seriously though it has to be there.

i think you're looking under the wrong panel... that was the 07 or 06 panel and i think the 02 03 is higher up, much closer to the glove box.

i believe the same panel is on 02-06, and they completely changed it for 07..

so yeah, its higher up... i took off my glovebox and it was right there.

you don't really have to remove the glove if you have small hands... remove the kickpanel and see if you can see the connector
