Exclamation Help me out with CEL.

Hey all, I popped a CEL a few days ago, and it went off after I parked the car. Well, yesterday I started the car and it idled very roughly for about 2 minutes then went back to normal. After about 3 minutes of driving the trusty CEL poped on again and this time it's not going off. I know I have to take it to a dealership to get it looked at, but that won't happen until Monday. Is it safe to drive my car? Anyone have any ideas about what this might be?

-Ty

oh: Car is stock, no mods.

Default What a Coinky-dink..UNFORTUNATELY!! =(

Yeah, I'd appreciate some feedback on this topic too. I had the same unfortunate experience a hour ago while driving my WRX.

I was 15 minutes into my 1 hour drive back from Camarillo to the San Gabriel Valley, CA, and while heading up a fairly steep grade on the 101 Freeway, near Topanga Canyon, the CEL popped up. I continued on for another 30-40 minutes reached my destination. Then, I cooled down the engine w/my turbo timer for about 3 minutes before shutdown. About 15 minutes later, I started the engine again, but the CEL was/is still on!

I was planning on heading to the dealer on Tuesday for an oil change and to check out some squeaks & rattles under warranty. But like TFW, I'm concerned over whether it'll be safe to drive the car w/the CEL for the next 3 days until I make over there.

Can someone please shed some light on this?

TFW, if you receive any information regarding this matter, can you please post or email it to me? My email is: CLsmooth71@aol.com

Thanks!!

Default Hm.

No problem, I'll pass along what I hear from the dealership or other people.

My car felt safe driving it all day yesterday, I did call the dealer to ask about driving it, and they said it is okay to drive with the CEL on, however NOT when it is flashing.

My CEL went off when I started my car last night after about 5 hours parked in the cold. It will probably come back on today.

FWIW w/o a code that we can determine we really can't help you...i hate to break it to ya but theres about a 1000 different variables that can turn on the MIL(CE Light). Take it to the dealer...don't touch it, better yet if you have no mods even better.
