Default Ford Mondeo Titanium X Sport, Mondeo gets a little mean

Quote:

While we still donít and probably wonít get it on the stateside, Ford has added a premium sport edition for its flagship Mondeo. The Ford Mondeo Titanium X Sport is visiually enhanced, packed with standard equipment and is powered by a new premium diesel or 5-cylinder petrol engines.
Feeding to the demand of a top end version of the Mondea, the Titanium X Sport Mondeo comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, twin chromed exhaust tailpipes, body-colored side skirts and a sporty interior with red stitching on leather/alcantara seats. The aluminium trim is replaced with stylish piano black inlays.
Buyer can choose from two powerful and efficient powertrains including a 2.5 liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine producing 216-hp or a 2.2 liter TDCi diesel engine producing 175-hp. 0-62 for the 2.2 liter TDCi comes in 8.4 seconds with a fuel-economy of 38mpg.
Standard equipment includes in-dash Sony six CD player, voice control, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, front and rear park assist, dual-zone climate control and Ford Power start button. Prices start at £23,355 (5 door) and £26,605 (estate).

I used to live in one of the houses in the background of picture 2
The bridges are the road and rail at the Firth of Fourth. Under the rail bridge (the red one) there is a bar named The Hawes Inn.

Car's not bad either.

Seriously do morons in Detroit think that 500 and Taurus look better than this?
Can't we just like do a protest in front of Ford HQ or nationwide market study which models people would preffer?
It's simple as that. You send some posters and brochures to the Ford US dealers and watch when people start to ask when the "new" (European) models will be available. I would be first in line for the Mondeo, Focus or that crossover mini SUV.
Or bring the models to the US auto shows as "prototypes" and watch what happnes. It's seriously not that expensive to find out if it would sell here.
Too bad they don't see that.

I guess Ford Motor Co. is not in the business of making cars for profit. They are making cars in order to preserve the history

P.S. Think about how Mustang's image would jump up once it is discontinued. Then you would have true "Car Legend"

The upcoming USDM Mazda 6 is very similar to the Ford Mondeo. If Ford brought the Mondeo over it would kill all the sales of the Mazda 6.

This is a typical American thinking.
Why can't people understand that adding a slightly different car in the same parent company is not "killing" the original model's sale? It just creates more variety for customer to choose from and who cares if it takes away sales from the Mazda 6 if it also takes sales away from Toyota, Dodge and others.

Which one would be better:
- Sell 50k Mazda 6 models
- Sell 35k Mzzda 6 models + 35k Mondeos ?
If I was Ford, this would be a "no brainer"

I's like all of the sudden McDonald's stops seling chesseburgers because it takes away from the Hamburger sales? It just doesn't make sense.
Plus, i'm suspecting that both cars share same platform and majority of hte parts so it will be actually very profitable. I don't think that Ford has problems competing in Europe with Mazda 6, do they?
