Default Bought new HID/Healdights for my 02 and I'm having a problem!

Hey guys,

I installed my new headlights (mainly cause my old ones were chipped/fogged up) and I bought this guy's lights: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...&highlight=HID

I mounted them and I hooked up the ballast and then the only thing left to hook up are these 2 wires (one black and one blue). I'm assuming these plug in to the stock headlight harness plug? The one that has 3 female holes and has one flat side and one curved so it looks kinda like |). Which holes do I plug the blue and black wires into? I've attached pics...

Am I missing anything?

One prong goes in each one of the 2 spaces on the headlight harness on either side.
Just try each one, guess and check.

Then put some electrical tape around it and youre good to good.
I PM'd you my number as well.

Aside from the poor lighting and glare aspect, doing a "plug and play" HID install on the factory wiring is a bad idea. If you insist on doing this with your factory lights at least do the wiring properly with direct grounding.

i think i have that same kit. you just need a voltmeter so you can check polarity so you don't hook it up backwards. some of my friends have had some issues with that kit.

i don't want to help you because you'll only cause harm with these... but your last post is epic failure. the middle one is what makes the whole freaking 9007 bulb work.

ditch the kit and put 9007 halogens in.

if you want blue, get blue halogen lights.

wow man, thanks so much. you're really helping the community out. I didn't know this was such a bad idea in stock housings till now. I'll get this installed, see how bad it is, and probably sell the ballasts and bulbs anyway. I just wanted them for the headlights anyway.

But thanks for being a dick. I've just never installed headlights before! Sheesh...

umm.. he really does help the community, and the info he just gave you isn't trash.. his comments on your headlights are a generality, however.. hids should not be put into reflectors.. reflectors are just that, the bulb bounces light off the reflector and projects them outwards.. if you have hids in reflectors, they're just that.. HIGH INTENSITY.. meaning, the higher intensity light will reflect but it will be a lot and cause a very bad glare to oncoming traffic.. regarding safety, if you get into a headon collision coz of your hids glaring the person going the opposite way, you're at fault

so i'd also suggest going back to halogens

these things are illegal and dangerous, not to mention pull WAY too much current on startup for your stock wiring and could easily damage your wiring, causing failure, melted connections, or even fire.

i'm sorry to come off like a jerk but i really am only trying to help you.

You may feel the comments are harsh but it really is good advice. That's why I directed you to the FAQ, the same information is in there.
