thats right ! Richie Hawtin...aka Plastik Man is comming to spin live at Smartbar Chicago August 30 at 9pm i believe till 3am ! im gonna be there.... who else is up for a night of dubatchery ?

Not really sure what "dubatchery" is...or do you mean "debauchery"

How old is that guy??? I remember going to see him spin @ parties waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.

38, actually.. not *that* old.

Kevin S, Derrick M, and Juan A were all born in the mid-sixties, and were around about a decade earlier than him (like around the time I was born and stuff ).

Hrm, Magda is also playing. So, so tempting. I haven't been out since Derek Plaslaiko rocked it in MKE last year, perhaps it's due time.

I have no clue what the Music Institute is/was.

I just remember going to (dare I say "raves" or should they be called parties??? ) in downtown Detroit w/him spinning back in '94.

The Music Institute was the first place out in Detroit where kids starting dancing all night long to techno music:

i went to his record shop when i was in detroit back in like 2000, then proceded to lansing,mi to go see D.R.C. and terry mullan rip it up
