Default My first Suby and build Bugeye at crazy price.(pics)

Ever since I saw the subaru wrx/sti I always wanted one. However as a student still I figured I would never get one until the other day. I happen to come across a 2002 wrx auto with 108k for the low price of $1,500. Now for that price you know there has to be something wrong. The owner said his son never filled the oil up in the car and ran it dry until it came to a bad knock. So far in my destruction I found out the up pipe was cracked and im not to the point of pulling the engine I should be tomorrow. Im guessing i might need my crank turned and deff. new bearings and what ever i come across when its apart. Sorry for the pics they are from my cell. oh also came with a nice stero. a 7in pioneer dvd player and pre amp and full speakers all around. also came with a guage pod with a air/fuel boost and oil temp and and injen cold air. Any suggestions would be great. Ill try to keep this thread up dated.

Crap soon to be replaced by a ported Deadbolt TD05H-16G

Sounds like you are up for the challenge and you got a hell of a deal. If the motor is the only problem the car is worth 3 or 4 times that so good job.

Should have shot the owner and not paid him anything. He doesn't deserve the $1,500.

Good job otherwise

Im still having a little trouble on how to get to the torque converter so i can seperate the motor and trans im just going to have to use the search button a little better to find my info out. Also if anyone has any new or used aftermarket parts for this let me know. Just send me a PM. im looking for exhaust, some kind of accessport tuner, and various others.

Wow, that was a steal. A rolling chassis is worth at least 4k, and you got a few sweet extras with it too.

I would but I'm trying to get this wrx on the road in a moderate time frame and i just dont want to wait to sell it as a blown motor and find one to replace it, when i already have one here and i can fix it.

Also thanks RextoWRX I will be sure to keep up the updates.
