Default Help Asap!!!!

My 1998 2.2L is giving me some issues! I put a sub in it today and ran everything through it fine (i thought)....i ran the switch for my amp off of the ABS switch....and now the car is flipping out!

the CEL is flashing rapidly, and when the key is on it sounds like a switch is turning on and off and the cooling fans turn on and off!! when it is running the CEL stays obviously but when you push the brake in and try to put it in drive it won't budge....any ideas?? or things i should check?? thanks

also while i was putting my deck in i had to keep putting it in drive because the knob kept getting in the way...maybe that had something to do with pissing the system off!?!?!

Yup bet that's what happened. Go back under the dash, find those green plugs that you connected together and unplug them. Problem solved.

No, what you are reporting is exactly what happens when those green connectors are plugged together. It puts the ECU into a diagnostic mode and the CEL flashes constantly while various relays and solenoids cycle on and off.
You are supposed to leave those plugs alone, now you know why (along with the multitudes of others who have done the same thing and made the same post).

The shift lock is a separate issue. You may have blown a fuse for the solenoid.
