Talking I may have a new recruit for us

Recently I've seen a white 4 door RS on the Subase here in Groton, CT, and a couple days ago I ended up parked next to it. I left the guy a nice long note with my email address, and he emailed me that night. He's interested in auto-x, so I told him about this Sunday's event with CART. Haven't heard back as to whether or not he intends to go - we shall see...

Oh, and I also potentially recruited a kid with a yellow ITR to come to the auto-x, too. He seemed very interested, said he has been wanting to try auto-x, but didn't know where to do it. Hopefully this guy and the dude with the white RS will both get their first hit on the auto-x crack pipe this Sunday.

Not currently, but If I were to crack up the car, I would need a helmet, cause my wife would like to "horribly mishape" it for me.
And being that she is currently hitttting me for writing this I may have the mishapen head syndrome before I even arrive there tomorrow.

Well you'd have to be horribly uncontrollable to crack up the car at an autocross.. They are well organized events, and at speeds less than 50MPH, in open parking lots its rare anyone will brake more than a cone.

Just goes to show you that I've never been to one of these events. Sounds like it will be a blast though. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I doubt I'll ever bother going to an SCCA event again, so I guess my answer is NO. I hate the way they organize them, the events have too many cars, and they're too damn far away. It's just not worth my time for maybe 4 runs on a short course.

Thumbs up

I'm the guy from subase w/ 2.5RS. I'll most likely be ther, for the view only. Not really sure about how to go about the whole process of entering event, and the only helmet I own is a bicycle helmet. Oh well.

no fear about helmets.

they usually have spares..
and we usually bring extras..

should work unless you have a horribly mishapen head...

Do you have a horribly mishapen head?
