Default FS: Cusco Strut Bar 95-99 Legacy

Had this sold twice and the buyers backed out. Blue oval Cusco front strut bar, fits all 95-99 Legacy's. Also appears to fit earlier Legacy's as well. Excellent condition. $125 shipped.

Somebody oughta snag this, it's a nice piece. I've got one in my car. Here's a link to a pic for anybody that might want to see what it looks like. (Sorry, can't insert Yahoo briefcase pics in here.) http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/richeich_...iew=t&.hires=t

Have either of you guys noticed any stability gains from this bar? I am interested, but I have heard that strut tower bars on our cars don't do much of anything because the struts are located so close to the firewall. What do you think?

AZ-GT Why are you selling the bar, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks!

I can't really honestly say that I could claim a difference. I got it before I started autocrossing last year, so I don't really have any before and after impressions. I don't get anywhere near the limits on the street like I do in autocross. Also, I don't think my driving is technical enough to maybe pick up on it. I generally just get out there and drive the wheels off her and have a blast. She pretty much goes where I tell her to, though! My shallow side really likes it because of the image factor. I think it looks good, and the blue matches the other stuff on the car. Oops, I think my feminine side is showing.

I mean, Hell Yeah... it makes a huge difference!

Thanks Rich, that's pretty much what I thought. Your right though, the blue does look good in your engine bay .

the front strut tower bar definitely does something on my car. it eliminated the groans and creaks (which i'm assuming were a result of some kind of flex) coming from behind the dashboard - but i'm also running spring rates probably 3x stiffer than stock.

Good point Roger. One of the reasons that I wanted one was because of a couple of very small cracks in my windshield. Both from stone chips, and both only about 1/8th of an inch long. I didn't want either one of those to progress any further, and I had read about one of the i-club Subaru rally-type guys running an event without a brace, and cracking his windshield just from the flexing. I figured having one would help prevent any futher cracking of my windshield.

And as far as handling goes, I'm sure it's gotta be some help. Definitely coudn't hurt any. I guess I just don't want to act like I noticed a huge difference. Probably if I took it off and autocrossed without it, I would notice the change.

Rich

Well heck, something I just remembered. I had the springs and struts installed one day, and then installed the strut tower bar the next day. Needless to say, the overall change in the car was fantastic. I just did too many mods too close together to really gauge the effect of the strut tower bar alone.

hey AZ-GT...i'm still interested, but it's just the whole money issue...i'm a poor HS student...that's the problem. In the near future when I get money, I'll buy if you still have it.

$120.00 is a good price for the Cusco Strut Bar.

I wish I had waited... When AZ-GT was selling it previously, I thought it was already sold, so I ordered myself a brand new one. It's on it's way from Japan right now. I should have it in about 2-3 weeks and once I put it on, I can take some pics and post them here for those who are interested.

Chris.
