Default 04 STI stock turbo 12.4@110 - Gadiel Tuned!

I took the car out Thursday night with BVP's EVO X. My best time of the night was 12.4 @ 110 . I ran against the EVO X that run and BVP ran a 11.4 which is the fatest EVO X right now! Here are my slips for the night :

Here is a video but unfortunately Victor didn't get my time since he went crazy when the X made that run

Don't start stirring **** in this thread. This isn't the thread to be arguing about where his FMIC came from, it is about his car overall and his good time slips.

LOL, I posted the wrong link......it's right now! Thanks about the times. I am really happy with the car......2 weeks ago the car made 326whp/326wtq with stock boost solenoid and ran 12.7 @ 107 on 18 psi, then we put on the MBC and Gadiel retuned to 20 psi. The car made 336whp/357wtq and I picked up 3-4 mph on my trap and ran the 12.4 . You have to see the dyno graph because it holds the power nicely through out the powerband

the car has a 12.2 in it if you can get your 1/8 down. 87mph is good for 7.7-7.8.

are you flat foot shifting the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts?

Georgie from PR told me the same thing, the car has a 12.2 in it as it sits.

I was not flat footing, just shifting regular.......I am still trying to figure out this car and my shift points.

I have gotten 2 pm's about what clutch I am running, so I might as well update the thread. I am still on the stock clutch, no issues.

I was talking to some drivers and they told me I need to be flat footing the shifts. One of the BVP drivers is confident the car can do a 11.9 flat footing and cutting a little lower 60 ft. I have to admit that I am not the quickest shifter but I am working on it.

1.68 is decent for a 60'

if you wanted to pull an 11.9 out of it you'd need a 1.5x 60' along with flat foot shifting, or a race gas tune, or a much colder day.

hahahahah

flat foot shifting holds no advantage. unless you have some kinda good system for Flat Foot shifting ( AP ffs is not one of those good ones ), even if you have this nice system. if you not able to shift fast enought theres really no point of having it.. you will need to shift really fast to take advantage of the FFS System. other than that its pretty much worthless

flat foot shifting is a drivers preferance, not something that you need to do to get faster time..

as of your car now the way it sits..
trapping 110mph with 1.68 60footers tells me this car was moving.. but im sure .1 or .2 can be shaved off but i dont see this car running 11.9 im sorry

btw... i dont flat foot shift

Correct downsti, the STI does not like to be FFS unless it is on some other kind of EM than the AP. These cars almost always pull timing when you do it because of the ultra sensitive knock sensor in the STI's. Just try to shift fast and smooth.

Congrats on the run. I am ready for Gadiel to get back so we can finish up the tune. The car is still sitting at BVP.

I agree with you, and honestly I feel maybe 12.2 with the current setup is all she got unless I do some serious dieting But apparently I shift like a grandma because every shift I lost a lot of time and boost,so that is why the guys at the shop are saying 11.9 might be possible. With rolly driving he took the evo x to 11.9 and trapped 110, he also cut a 1.5 60ft though, lol not that I am comparing it with my car but Rolly is just a sick driver....so is Georgie

Also, the boost is set at 20 psi for the guy that pmd me

I actually have to disagree with you. During my tuning session with Ed, I was flat foot shifting and didn't even loose 1 psi between an upshift.

The time it takes your car to build boost is lost acceleration. Even though you dont do it, it doesn't mean it wont make the car run a quicker ET.

Ed also tunes around the "shift knock" so I must again disagree with the reasons you gave.

I dunno, its average for me. when I was using the TMIC, a bad lauch was a 1.7 60'.

a low 1.6 (1.61-1.63) or high 1.5 is what I would consider a badass 60' in this car.
