Hey Locals, who wants to give our new WRX ignition a go? It won't cost you a dime. We got all the bugs worked out with our previous direct hit system, and have new wires inbound next week. The wires were the problem our d-hits weren't functioning 100% in 99-2001 RS's, so we got that fixed. It is a very good upgrade. Now we have the upgrade for the WRX. It definitely improves the WRX hole shot, but the last 400rpm still dwindles, so low end torque is up, and top end pull is still missing. The first local customer, preferably someone near waldorf will get a free set.

So you've tested this out on a WRX already?
Free sounds good. I might want to be the guinee pig. If nobody else has claimed it I will. |

They ran it on a couple WRX's out in Arizona, and the results were GREAT! I don't have a WRX, but we sell the d-hit units, and I want a local to get them under the hood.

You should see the demo system he has that fires one off. There could be some evil uses for that in the wrong (my) hands!

Pardon my ignorance, but exactly what is this "new ignition system"? Is it just wires like magnecor or ignition booster like MSD? Thx,

Good to hear that it's all working out. The ignition is actually nothing new. It isn't like nology, as to having capacitance material within the wires. That proves to be entirely to unreliable. These are solid state caps that attach between the spark plug and the ignition wires. We've had the system for well over a year, but I stopped selling them to 2.5RS owners because of intermitent misfire problems. We finally got the issues resolved, so I'm comfortable hooking these up on 2.5RS's again. In theory, hooked to a turbo, they should do real good. The more air and fuel they get a chance to burn, they will burn it very well. Mileage goes up because you aren't pressing on the gas pedal as much to get the same cruise performance. The magic number is 3500rpm. Once you break 3500rpm on the highway, these start eating fuel, but if you have an intake, you will definitely hear much more sound from your intake over the stock intake, so your demand for air is increasing, thus more fuel demand, and lower mileage.
This is what I've do know from one of our customers in Montana. His hiway mileage is up 3mpg at a constant 80mph. That is a big improvement. His top speed is up 200rpm. I don't know his speed, but he does know his RPM's are up, foot to the boards over a 5 mile flat out run. His is just below the redline. Hope this helps. Shawn |

I may be mistaken but I thought all GDA-WRX's are direct ignition, so why would we want plug wires? Am I mistaken, or is this for a older Impreza? Or does the kit offer new coil packs to boost the ignition spark?
