Ok i'm taking my car for an oil change now in 2 hrs. I know i have to use synthetic oil 5W-30 (i have an 05 STi). But i don't know how many quarts. So how many quarts am i suppose to use.

5(4.8), but i would hope the place you are taking it to knows that.
second thought not positive that's correct because you have an sti, my bad. But regardless the place you take it to should know. |

You do not "have" to use synthetic although it is ok to do so.
Your owners manual has all the information you need regarding oil types and amounts, that is the first place you should look. And I hope you're going to a dealer or real shop for service and not a Jiffy Lube or similar place. Horror stories abound about those. |

I'm pretty sure you can go to www.mysubaru.com and give them your VIN, and get a free owners manual.

5 liters (4.8) is what manual states. Fumoto Valve FTW, do it yourself

yeah i kow how to change oil i always would help my brother in his Supra and celica but i didn't have the time because my brother was graduating high school and i was busy getting things ready for it. But anyways they did a good job and my car seems to have a better feeling lol. i love oil changes!

i used a synthetic from jiffy lube, i think its not the best choice
