Default engine upgrade plans

would you tuners tell me what you think of these plans:
only engine mods so far are GFB BOV, GFB underdrive pulleys, Injen CAI, M2 uppipe. i have an HKS EVC-IV in the box, and plan to get an HKS super AFC to handle fuel management. they say this will also adjust for idle probs from BOV (haven't noticed any yet). i'll probably get a turbo-back, and boost/EGT/Air-fuel gauges, probably a knock-link, and then take the whole thing to an HKS dealer nearby who has an AWD Dynojet to get it tuned. i plan to run only 15-16lbs through the stock turbo.
before you Vishnu fans start flaming, i admire Shiv and think his product is great. but i want to do my own thing and have it user-tunable. i'm going to take the car to europe with me for a couple of years and want to be able to fine tune if i have to. as far as i can see, all the unichip does is tune ignition, boost (not well) and fuel. so all i would be missing is the ability to tune the ignition. can the stock ECU handle ignition for what i plan to do? is there a unit that allows user/tuner ignition tuning without proprietary maps? or am i foolish for not going the ECU route? and does it sound safe enough? the HKS products i mention seem really good.

You want an ITC made by Apex-i

The S-AFC + ITC essentially does the same thing as the Unichip.

I think there is more granularity with the S-AFC/ITC route, and you definitely can't go back to someone if you have issues, since you tune it yourself. Otherwise, yes, they provide essentially the same function as the Unichip with user adjustability.

Has anyone actually gotten an ITC to work? The few threads I followed about it didn't turn out so well.
