Default Ebay Headlights HELP!!!

I got a set of ebay projector halo headlights from a guy off here, and i can't figure out how to install them. there is a red and black wire for each halo (2 red and 2 black). All you do is plug in the turn signal and the headlight and the original plug that has the old turn signal and the parking light are no longer needed.

I took the red and black wires and hooked them to the black and red from the original parking/turn signal plug. Dosen't work. Also tried putting it to the NEW turn signal black and white wires and it works but the halos stay on while the low beams are on and my fog lights don't work..

Also i noticed when i turn my lights on even if the low beams are on the "brights" is on on my dash. Which i can't figure out why it won't turn off. (i dont know if maybe it was because i was driving around with my brights on b/c one of my old headlights in my stock lights were out, i doubt it though)

If anyone HAS the wiring digram for these it would be GREAT. I just want the halos to work with my parking lights on ONLY and my fog lights to work all the rest to the lights are plug and play..

Default eBay Projector Lights

Has anyone figured out a way to get these cheap-ass eBay lights to work. I have a problem with mine as well, where my high beam indicator lights up when low beams are on and when I flip on high beams they become really dim. I also can't use the foglights when just the low beams are on.

I keep hearing about some pins that need to get re-wired, but I can't seem to figure out which pins?

Thx!

IMO those lights are garbage and not worth the trouble to rewire them. But, if you're determined it's just a matter of swapping the pin with the two wires (they should be black) so it's on the center terminal of the connector. The center terminal is the common positive, the other two are the low and high beam switched grounds (you'll have to mess with them to figure out which is which).
Even properly wired, the beam pattern is terrible and your stock lights are far better.

Bot to jack this thread but I have the same problem as imprezababy. My high beam light is backwards and high beam is dimm and low beam is nice. Can anyone explain how to fix the lighting? When I put my stock headlights on, there all messed up because of the wiring. I just want to put my stock lights back on but the wiring is messed up and I cant fix it

The last headlight mod I saw connected black/red from the lights to black/red on the harness... and it ended up being the new hardware for power and ground were swapped so it got hooked up red to red and black to black and that did NOT complete the circuit.

We had to swap and connect red to black and black to red and then they fired right up. IMO mulder is right they are shiznitty quality but hey who am I to judge, to each his own... just make sure you're not blinding the heck outta oncomers and you're good to go. I have heard the beam pattern on these are terrible and I know my buddy swapped back because they gave him worse visibility. Anyway, GL, let us know how it turns out

Hi I also have these lights, the only reason I got these is because my stock ones broke from an accident. So I figured out that they aren't wired right and you said to switch the wires at the connector, can you be a little more specific about which side of the connector, and maybe provide some pictures? Also which is the low beam and high beam on these lights, the inner light or the outer light? thanks for your help.

low is outer but they can be switched around.

there is no way to properly wire these without a relay. having your lows cut out when you put on the highs is unsafe with these lights.

actually, everything is unsafe with these lights. they are "off road only" because they don't light worth a damn. they are not OEM replacements.

Default ebay lights

Ok guys after fiddling around for two days I finally got these wired up right, and actually they are pretty nice. You don't need any relays or anything else to make these work, I had to cut one of the black wires and solder it to the white wire in the center of the connector. And to make the halos light up I tapped them into the side markers. To make these work you need some basic knowledge in electrical circuits, and good soldering skills. I will post some pictures in a little bit.

OK so here are the pics:
Halo are on,

As you can see the fog lights also work. I set these up so that the outer light is the lows and the inners are the brights.

Here are the brights:

If anyone else has these lights and has some problems with the wiring just let me know and maybe I can help.

The reason that your lows are so dim is if you haven't rewired the lights correctly, both the inner and the outer lights light up(thats how mine were) but with the lows on, only the outer lights are supposed to come on. I don't have a wiring diagram but maybe I can make a video or post some pictures on how to rewire the lights. Again what I did is took one of the black wires, cut it and soldered it to the white wire in the center of the blue connector. It was really simple with the halos, for each headlight I tapped the halos into the sidemarker that is in the fender. If you are willing to do all the work to make these lights work and still want to get help on how to fix them let me know. Also I had no Idea that the leds are so blue and actually I havent thought about that being a problem untill I read your guys' comments, so how blue can the halos be legally(I live in Vancouver WA if it makes any difference)?

no, the reason you can't see anything with them is because they are terrible lamps that don't put the light where it should be.

this is how you fix them:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1588665

you replace the lamps with ones that can actually LIGHT THE ROAD WELL.

I have been wanting to pick up a set of these for cheap as I would like to do a custom project of my own. But I don't want to pay full e-bay price... nor do I want to deal with e-bay.

thanks for that. i only got them for winter lights cause i dont want to get my edms all messed up.

can you post some closeups on how they look now. whats the deal with all that silicone round the edges. did you ctidy it up? and so how?

think these lights are a good and cheap base to start a project from.

also ill try that wiring out later today. have to fit my ff1000 in the place where my stock fogs went(intercooler piping ftl).

i only got these to protect my sti lights too... and because my jdm's are rhd.

what's your point? does it not get dark during winter in new hampshire?

lighting is SAFETY equipment.
these lights may be a good cheap base to start a project from- but you need safe lighting 100% of the time on public roads and these are NOT safe without retrofitted optics from a real car.

and i have ff1000 in the stock fog location, do yourself a favor and put some washers in the top bolt mount on the front part.

yeah, inspection doesn't mean it's legal. ******* cops suck but they can and should give you a night full of trouble if not more if you don't have the sense to remove the exterior blue running lights from your vehicle.

I actually want to bake my broken stock headlights and get the faceshield off them and bake the face onto my ebay projectors. Would this be ok?
