Exclamation V4 STi stock egt question

So, I just got a jdm hks downpipe for my car, and I am in the process of putting it in as we speak. But my egt prob WILL NOT COME OUT!! I tried everything to get that thing out of there and it wont budge. Its so rounded off now it rediculous.

So I guess the question is, where do I get another one? And will it be ok to run my car without it till I get another?

What exactly is it there for? Is it a failsafe incase egt's get to high it shuts things down?

Will one for a newer WRX work?

Does anyone have one??

Please help, I dont know if I should just put my stocker back in, or put the hks in and plug the hole for now.

Thanks
