Default Nice deal on track rubber, ebay...A032R's new, and lots of them...

Ebay seller...

255 40 17 (36 left) and 235 40 17 (18 left).

Accepted my offer of $75/per for 255's. ($99 buy it now/best offer).

Edit: Soft compound. Decent life, but not the iron warriors that are the hard compound.

At $75/tire. Well, it certainly seems like a good idea over new 48's at $250/per.

Just know that the A032R's come in S(soft) for auto-x and H(hard) for track day and heavier cars...like ours
Did anyone check with the seller?

Does $100 sound reasonable for shipping 4 tires? I have never had tires shipped so I have no clue what outfits such as tirerack charge.

See posts 4 and 5. And the softs aren't even that soft. I've lapped on softs before, not a big deal, still wear well.

Well, Tirerack ships for much less than that. Its high for shipping. Just look at it form a total cost perspective. Ebay sellers hide extra profit in their shipping costs, which I'm fine with, as I know how much the total is, and whether its a good deal based on that.

I asked him yesterday, but if he's not at the warehouse until Moday, it might have to wait.

Someone else should fire off an email to him asking hard or soft...

They accepted my offer of $70 a piece. $380 for a set of 4 delivered. I bought the Sumitomo HTR Z in the same size from Tirerack delivered for the same price. As far as I'm concerened, I now have something to compare the Sumitomo's to ,and either hard or soft, I can't believe $380 shipped for 4 tires is a bad deal. I'm going to burn them up anyway.
I bought Lotus compound 048's from Tirerackat over $1000 delivered, and I didn't get 2000 street (Dragon) miles out of them.
The next person should offer $60 -$65....... lol

Hmm.. I think 235s on my OEM 17x7s might be a bit of a stretch.

They'd be fine. Especially for racing. Slightly shorter sidewall would help hearing as well.

I just wish the 255's were hard. Would the softs last a weekend at a track (255's)?

From what I've seen, yes, should last more than that too. I think they are somewhere around the victoracer level. Not even taking into account that they are a couple years old...

Come to think of it. A weeks worth of highway trips on them and I might be able to harder them up to "Hard" like levels before beating on them...

It's really more of a Medium rather than "soft", Yok never really made a soft gummy "autocross" tire. They are commonly run as daily/street drivers by the Lotus Elise crowd, and they get a ton of miles and cycles out of them. I would not worry about the compound at that price, go ahead and buy them!!
