Anyone tried the 2004 Sti "replica" hood scoop for 02-03WRX?

I'm considering it for my '02 WRX and wonder if anyone knows if will bolt right up or if I need to drill holes. Thanks.

What scoop are you talking about? The shape of the scoops are different, different shaped mounting hole in the hood.
Is someone making a 04 shaped scoop for the 02-03 besides the high priced MRT?

Yeah, I've been searching forever and finally found a close replica to the 04/05 Sti scoop that fits 02-03 WRX. Its at www.xcceleration.com

You have to search a bit to find it, but its with all the body kits and stuff. I think I'm going to get it. There asking $300 unpainted.

Too rich for my blood. Whey they get into the price range of a 02-03 STi scoop, I'll upgrade.
They do look nice though.

if you are looking for a larger hoodscoop for your 02-03 wrx, i reccomend the 02-03 STi hooscoop. you can find it at www.subydude.com

Thanks for the input. I checked Gruppe-S and your right they have what appears to be a similar product, and cheaper. However, I'm not sure the top-front of the scoop "jets" outward like the 04-05Sti does. Thats the look I'm going for.

04 need different hood scoop because the nose of the hood slope dowmward so the air will be deflected further upward as compared with 02-03. So the roof of the hood scoop need to be extended forward to catch enough air.
For 02-03, STi hood scoop is quite enough, unless for the look, which IMHO, will not blend to the smooth look of bug eye. just my .0002

06 WRX has returned to the 02-03 design !!

i hear ya on the look. i wan tit too. plus with that extra long overhang or what ever it will grab more air, making your engine cooler. i already have a bigger TMIC and i think this would be a great improvment on temps. but i cant find a carbon fiber one.

i am going over to a guys place that has a 05 sti csoop and we are going to see what it will take to make it fit.

I bought one and am waiting for it. They apparently custom build per order. Anyway, the place I got it thru says they have a CF one also. Kinda pricey at $399 (i think). www.xcceleration.com

i just got the one from Gruppe-s. It will bolt right up(no drilling). It's gonna take a little shaping with sandpaper to make it look OEM quality. The quality if good but not excellent. With the right shop doing the work it's gonna look real nice. I'm gonna do something a little different with mine as well. I'll post pics when I'm finished with it and you guys can see for yourself. Ohh yeah, it looks like it's gonna blend well with the body lines which I was a little nervous of. I think it's gonna be what I hoped when it's complete.

I saw this one, but it doesn't have the "beak" that jets foward. Good price though. Anyway, i just got notice that mine shipped out and I should have it mid next week. I'll post pics and give a full report on bolt-up and all that stuff.

Okay, finally got the hood scoop. After 7-8 weeks. I can't and won't say much about xcceleration.com (where I got it) but it came in exactly as I wanted and looks to be a perfect fit. At least the owner called and emailed on a regular basis to update me and apologize for the delay. I would buy from them again but I wouldn't wait 2 months!!!

seibon makes on also in Carbon fiber. i got one with my CF hood. bolted right up to my '02 oem hood. its huge

the seibon one is beautiful. if i wasnt upgrading to a 05 sti i would buy the carbonfiber one from them. next car will be scoopless..... FMIC are the devil
