Cool 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds!

Hey guys,
Back from the land of Mickey Mouse. I am no thrill rider...but I rode the Rockin' Rollercoaster at MGM Disney Studios. I was in the last car, in the last seat, alone (Bill was sick-and a rollercoaster chicken) the first thing they do...count you down, and then shoot you from zero to sixty in 2.8 seconds. Blasts Aerosmith, in the dark, and send you into a loop immediately! Woo Hoo. Very intense-but a BLAST! I imagined that that is what it's like to take off in a turbo RS.

Missed the board, and I'm glad I'm back, just in time for some snow. I'm going to clear my car off and go out for a ride!

The last seat in Rollercosters are always a blast! As the cars in the front go over the hills they pull real hard on the cars in the back.. Kinda weird just as you crest a hill for someone to hit the gas!

Did it do any loop-d-loops?

sorry ... there's no way my car can or will ever go that fast. even if it did, I'd be too scared to drive it!

2.8 seconds is full-out race car territory. I wonder what the WRC cars are capable of. I know for a fact that Formula 1 cars can accelerate that fast given sufficient traction.

sounds like you had a fun trip though. i should go back there sometime.

Yeah I just got back form Mickey world last sun also, I rode the rockin rollor coaster twice, I was in the first seat the first time, and the middle the second time, the ride KICKED ASS for sure. I loved the accleration of the magnets, but I kinda like the feeling of free fall better. But the ride Kicked ass the whole time, it never really died out at all, most coasters die after a few moments, this one kept it coming. YAHOOOOOO

Just as the ride gets fun...it's over...very quick. I wanted to ride it again, but weak knees made me want to do other stuff first...and the more I thought about it, I wasn't sure I'd get back on it again. Then we just ran out of time. But I'll definitly do it again next trip!

Ken, it goes 0-60, and shoots you into a loop right off the bat. Then there's a couple of cork screws in there too...but it's all in the dark, so it's hard to say exactly what it does! But it's intense and fast! Woo, I can't wait till the next trip...! I'm sure Bill is already plotting a way to get us back there soon...he loves Disney.

Canobie Lake's coaster isn't quite like the one you rode but the Six Flags NE (aka Riverside) might have something closer to that one. If you wanted to save yourself some cash..

Patti (my wife) is a chicken and won't go on the coasters. I did get her on the Six Flags in Jersey.. It had a bunch of loops and stuff on it, lets say I almost when deaf from her screaming.

Yeah for sure on the six flags one. If you have the balls try the superman coaster, you can't breath for the first 3 sec of the ride. It has no loops, but the g-forces are incredible, if you like the loops try mind eraser. It will blow your mind for real. Anyone interested in coasters and haven't been to six flags you have to check it out.
