Default Working in Europe, where to go for the 4th of July?

So we are planning out our next big holiday trip over here (went to Prague for memorial day weekend) and trying to figure out where to go...

so, anyone have any suggestions? Probably leaving thursday (july 3) and coming back sunday for the long weekend

Walk into one of the crappy muslim neighborhoods and prattle on about how great america is. You're guaranteed to see some awesome fireworks!

... Yeah, I was definitely kidding.

July 4th would be the celebration of the fact that Great Britain lost it's most fruitful colonies, which eventually became the most powerful nation on the planet.

Ever heard of the term "bitter taste?" Yyyyeah.

I would suggest Spain that weekend. Sevilla, Granada, or Valencia. All are great fun, will be guaranteed great weather, and are culturaly and architecturaly interesting.

Barcelona. I was there about 10 years ago on the 4th and there were fireworks by the harbor! A very small show, but it still surprised me. I don't know if it was a one time deal or not though. There was also had a small ceremony on Montjuic (by the Olympic Stadium) celebrating the 4th. Even if there's no fireworks, Barcelona is an awesome city and a great place to go any time.
If you're off on the 14th, maybe check out southern France for Bastille Day. I had a great time in a small town (Cassis) on the coast.

Too bad you can't bump your trip up by a couple of weeks.

Friday, 20 June. Summer Solstice in Stockholm (Midsummer Celebration).

Loaded with drunk Swedes and crayfish. Fun for all...adults.

We had a good time.
