Default 08 WRX to 08 STi Exterior conversion

I'm just wondering if anyone know exactly all the parts required in order to complete a 08 WRX to 08 STI exterior conversion.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's some of the parts I think would be necessary..

- front wide fenders
- front bumper
- front grill
- sideskirts
- rear door
- rear fender
- rear bumper

I know the STI has dual exhaust.. but not really fond of it as I don't think there'd be any performance gain for doing it..

anyway.. please let me know if I have missed anything.. thanks guys

You do realize the rear fender would require cutting off your quarter panel then rewelding the new peice on right?

You'd spend more on the conversion than the difference between buying a wrx and an sti. But, whatever, it's your $.

Bye Bye STI!!!

You would spend close to 6-7K when all the body work and everything is done, considering you'll need new wheels with wider offset too!!!

Then you have what "looks" like an STI, but still have:

WRX Interior and seats
WRX gauge cluster
WRX wheels
WRX brakes
WRX suspension
WRX engine
WRX 5-speed
No Si-Drive

That, and you couldn't even really tell people you had an STI... So, what's the point exactly?

Why not just do a custom wide-body WRX?

If subaru didnt recieve so many complaints from bitchy sti owners regarding how the 06/07 wrx's and sti's looked too similiar, they would have continued making them similiar and people with 08 wrx's would'nt be having these crazy ideas.

/end rant on ugly new wrx's

Why not just buy an 08 Sti? Lol, seems like a lot of work just to look the same.

That was their own fault. The 04-05 WRX looked way timer than an STi. They made a mistake with keeping the bumper, scoop, and side skirts identical.

+1 all that money spent, but it's still a WRX. would had been a better idea to buy a 2.5i, do the conversion and drop a JDM GRB STi motor

Like a body builder with a huge upper body and legs of a 12 year old.

Also, I like to be encouraging to whatever ideas people have. To me, no idea is a dumb idea as long as no one is hurt by it.

I personally don't see the value in this. I believe in working from the inside out. I think the 08' WRX sedan is a better looking car than the STI. Keep the exterior how it is

Actually.. one of the reason why I'm considering doing a conversion is because I've been involved in a hit and run.. and another little accident recently.

my front fender's dented.. rear door/rear fender dented..

anyway, I'm not trying to look like a STI. it's just that most aftermarket bodykit is only available for the STI, not the WRX. Therefore, I'm tempted to swap to the wider fenders rather than fixing the damaged parts on my car.

Just claim on your insurance and get the car fixed back to stock. You do the conversion and you'll lose out big time financially.

You'll end up with a car that is not an STi. Prospective WRX buyers who are not enthusiasts will want to know why there is all this non-standard work done to the car and they likely won't buy it as a result, and enthusiasts possibly interested in it will not want to pay anywhere near what you put into it.

You might be happy with it but you'll really feel the pain when you come to sell it. After all, these are not bolt-on mods that you can remove and sell separately!

You mean as opposed to everyone who drops $10K+ on turbo upgrades and then enjoys a corresponding $10K bump in resale value at trade-in time?

Do it. It will benefit the community. I'd love to see someone do a widebody sedan, too.
