I think your SHIFT key only works intermittently, or you failed English class.

Street racing?

Buy the cheapest, crappiest tires you can, so at least you aren't going as fast when you hit somebody.

Haven't heard of those tiers, but I have heard of first tier, second tier, and third tier. If you want the very best of all the tiers you have to get the first tier, not the 435th tier.

The HTR + is a decent tire but, not much of a performer. The sidewall is pretty weak so steering response suffers and as an all-season tire grip is less than most performance enthusiasts desire ... it does offfer decent ride quality and bad weather traction ...

I have driven on a number UHPAS (ultra high performance all season) tires, the HTR + being one. They have the best bad weather (read snow/ice) performance of any of that group that I have driven. They are also some of the worst of that group on dry, and only so-so in wet. Lateral grip is also one of the worst in this group, but it does give lots of warning before it breaks and does recover pretty predictably

These are the others I have driven with my thoughts on their +s and -s:

Falken 912: My current favorite in the group: Excellent dry traction (bordering on summer/only tire performance). Very good wet traction. Have no clue about snow yet. Inexpensive as well. Very good steering response. Great lateral grip, holds very well, let's you know well in advance when it about to break away, and recovers very well. Probably the best bang for the buck tire in this group. I have driven on the 512s as well and thought them an excellent UHPAS tire. The 912 IMHO is even better!

AVON 550: Very good dry. Very good wet. Decent snow/ice. Very good steering response. Very good lateral grip, breaks late recovers quickly. Also a very good bang for the buck tire.

General UHP: Very good dry. Excellent in wet. It has a mud and snow rating, but I wouldn't push it in anything more than a light snow. Steering response is a bit slow and sloppy. Despite that, it has very good later grip and is very predictable. Very inexpensive!

Pirelli P Nero Zero AS: Excellent dry, possibly the best of the group. Good wet. Excellent steering response. Excellent lateral grip, also very predictable. Miserable snow/ice, I wouldn't trust these in anything over a light dusting. The most expensive of this group by a good margin. At the time I had them they were $200 a pop vs. the Falken 912 at less than $80.
