Default I have 5x100 wheels on 2005 STI !!!!!

I am going to pick up my STI but notice this.

It's a 2005 with what looks to be 5x100 rims on it...Is this possible??

I have a set of rims I already ordered in 5x114.3 (Work Emotion XD9) I am getting worried they won't fit now

Wheel manufacturers are often lazy/cheap and don't change the castings between different sizes. I've seen this on Volks also. 5x100 is still cast in the wheel, but they're actually 5x114. I'd measure the spacing just to be sure though. There should be 2.65" from one bolt to the adjacent one (center-to-center).

I am going to take my new rims (Work Emotion XD9) to get test fitted tonight to make sure...The dealership is checking into it and looking at a few key point on the car to make sure what year it truly is.

Just seems like to me at this time that the SSR rim manufacturer was lazy and didn't do a new casting for the 5x114.3 pattern is all.

Will update tonight when I get home as to the outcome

those are 5x114.3. you can tell by the spacing between the lugs.

interesting that they got stamped 5x100 though since i have the same wheels.

i saw this on another set of ssr's. 5x100 was stamped on the face of the wheel even though they were on a 5x114.3 hub.

watched a 300zxtt on the dyno the other day and I was looking at the volk wheels on it. They said 5x100 on them. The Z's were 5x114.3

Same thing on my SSRs for my old BWM, stamped 4x114.3 where it was really 4x100.

wheels are typically stamped with a couple of different bolt patterns listed because that stamping is for load capacity labelling. Wheels can be machined into different bolt patterns after manufacturing so, they usually put more than 1 bolt pattern into the mold.

5x100 = 520kg
5x114.3 = 690kg

look closely both will be listed ...

I was just wondering about this yesterday as i was unpacking my work emotions. The rims stamp says 5x100 520kg but all the packaging and labels say 5x114. Im sure ill be good but i was confused.

as you can plainly see there are many areas on the wheel with pertinent information .... while the OP points out the 5-100 marking there is also 5-114 markings in one of the other areas
