Impreza WRX STi 235/40/18? - 05 STi

Looking at going 235/40/18 with the new Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, just wondering if anyone has any insight if these will rub or not. Stock suspension, looking at possibly going with lowering springs in the near future (Cobb, Prodrive, or JDM Pinks).

Thanks for the help... Searched, called Tire Rack... No definate answers

possibly with the cobb springs since they lower our cars too much. most likely not with the prodrives or jdm pinks.

You shouldn't have any problems at all if you are on a standard kinda offset...

I was super slammed before on +48 offset... I'd say another inch lower than cobb springs and I never rubbed...

Just set your camber up correctly so you wont have rubbing inner or outer...

I had a set of the 235/40/ZR18 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs installed on a set of 18x8.5 +50 Volk TE37 Seibons over the weekend and they fit perfectly with no rubbing inside or out. I do however have Cusco Zero 2R coilovers. The car goes in for an alignment tomorrow as I want to have the ride height even at about a finger's width between the top of each tire and the center of the fender well. I took some pics that are on my journal over on IWSTI if you want to take a look. My username there is Nutmegman.

How much room do you have between the tire and your fender? I am planning on running a similar setup but with a +44 offset.(will stick out ~1/4" further) Think I'll make it?

I would be hesitant to say I have any more than 1/8" clearance. (I'm at work right now and don't have the car with me.) It would be awfully close either way. As you may be aware, the Dunlop Direzza's are a bit wider than your normal 235/40/18 tire but they are one of the lowest in overall diameter compared to most other 235/40/18's coming in at 25.1".

assuming you are running semi conservative offsets, like 45 and above, you'll have no problems.

This is a very popular size on our cars.

Kind of what I figured, just wanted to make sure. Going to be running these on Prodrive GC05F's 18x8 +46...
