what car do you have?

235 is a pretty good stretch on a 9" rim.

I have 18x8 widetracks on my car with 235/40/18 and they fit the rim pretty well with some sidewall protection and no stretching. For your application 235 would be stretching it a bit, so a 245 would probably be better, but I guess it depends on the kind of look you are going for.

255/35 at least.

What is the point of having a 'wide-body' if you are going to run skinny tires.

255s fit under my STi with unmodified fenders and quarters.

Dude, you have a widebody kit and are getting some 18x9 wheels. You should consider going with something like this:

or maybe something like these:

it'd help if you told us the offset of the wheels and any suspension mods you have.

i fit 255/35/18s on my 04 sti with slightly rolled rear fenders. i've got 18x8.5 +48 and rce yellows with no rubbing whatsoever.

the offset is +40 and i have sti control arms. i was thinking to do more suspension mods after the rims got mounted, so i can see how much i want ot drop it. im not trying to go extremely low just moderate since jerseys potholes are relentless.

We have no idea what tires will fit...can you give us more information? You say your car has a 'rear wide body'....What does that mean? How much wider is it?
