Default STi 20kg center diff - hand brake problems

Hi, I am currently running with following (driveline) setup on 06 WRX:

- 1 way Cusco RS front diff
- 20 kg STi center
- 1,5 way Cusco RS rear diff
- PPG 1-4 helical dog box

Doing a lot of Auto-x (or at least some sort of local version of it in Poland) which often require extensive use of hand brake. Besides lot of track days. Car handles great and choice of diffs suits me both for track and Auto-x. My only problem is hand brake - 20 kg STi center diff practically eliminates it. It is impossible to u-turn on tarmac

I was initially planning to change to hydraulic hand brake, but was told that it would not help. Experts from MRT tried this in their rally car - no use.

I am really stuck here, as I truly enjoy riding characteristics of current setup, but must find a solution (center diff) that would enable me to use hand brake like with stock diff. Suggestions (tested) deeply appreciated.

You could try stepping down to the 12 kg center diff, maybe you can have your cake and eat it too. Afterall, the stock one is only 4 kg.

The 20k center diff was not intended for tarmac use.

You would be better off with the Cusco tarmac center diff.

The CUSCO tarmac is the one you need. You have an AWESOME LSD setup! I'll be upping my stock R180 2way to a KAAZ 1.5way unit.
To use the 12kg, you need to have the PHASE1 transfer case. PHASE2 transfer case uses the 20kg unit. Stock units are 4kg.

I love my DCCD tranny. E-brake anytime! muahahhah

Cool...we could REALLY use another sponsor! This is awesome! You won't regret it Dylan!!!!

If I could afford it, I'd have 2 already. Unfortunately....the finances just ain't there for it. Thank you for the heads up though! IL isn't too far to go for one either!
