To any and all interested in a "Killer" event. The course is on two taxiways and the runway of Philipsburg Airport in central PA. You can expect a fast course that takes approx 60 seconds to complete. Also expect 5 competitive runs each day barring unforeseen circumstances. Course design is by National Champ Sam Strano. If you have never driven a course that Sam designed, it's worth the trip just for that. This is our premier event of the year and includes a free meal cooked by one of our members that is a chef for those that compete both days. Cost for the meal is $10.00 for those just competing one day.
Itinerary
Please note that unlike the rest of our regular season events, pre-registration for the Cone Killer is required. Pre-registration closes at the end of day, Tuesday July 3rd and is limited to 120 competitors, so please plan ahead! If you're coming for the whole weekend, you need to pre-register for both days separately. You may also pre-register by contacting Lauren Mohar (see link below). Registration is $30/day ($60 for the weekend) for SCCA members and $35/day ($70 for the weekend) for non-members. Friday non-comps are $1/run and Saturday non-comps are $2/run (no pre-registration required for non-comps) for members and non-members alike. Schedule Friday, July 18 9:00 AM: Site preparation and setup, volunteers welcome! 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: $1/run Fun Runs, no registration required. Runs will be on a non-runway course. Saturday, July 19 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Check-in, tech inspection and course walk. 9:45 AM: Mandatory driver's meeting. 10:00 AM: First car off. Awards ceremony following the end of competition runs. Non-comp runs following the end of the awards ceremony. Sunday, July 20 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Check-in, tech inspection and course walk. 9:45 AM: Mandatory driver's meeting. 10:00 AM: First car off. Awards ceremony following end of competition runs. Here's a link to the CPR-SCCA page for the Cone Killer Classic for more info. http://www.scca-cpr.org/cms/index.ph...killer-classic

Yeah. That would be a long drive from your neck of the woods.
