Default Flickering lights

Hi i just changed my alternator last week and after it i noticed that all my lights flicker pretty bad, dashboard,dome lights, taillights, headlights etc. i was wondering would this be a sign of a weak battery? im a newb when it comes to electric stuff but ur help is appreciated. Thanks

The replacement alternator may have a problem with some of the output diodes. Alternators generate a 3 phase AC output that gets rectified by the diode pack and then that pulsing DC gets regulated to about 14.8 volts DC. If a diode shorts out then you can get the problem you are having. Have a shop check the alternator out. If the alternator is putting out some AC voltage it will hurt the battery.

i replaced it with an oem alternator but im pretty sure my battery is weak but ne other suggestions?

The problem you are having is due to trouble with the charging system, end of story. Since you state the battery charge condition is low you may need to replace both the alternator and the battery.

im gonna change the battery some time this week and see how it goes from there

Don't throw parts at it, get everything tested properly. A bad alternator can ruin a new battery in short order, and vice versa. If this type of troubleshooting is over your head (and from your posts it seems to be), your best course of action would be to have a shop take a look at it.
