Default butterfield canyon/Middle canyon cruise?

Like the title says. Some parts are dirt road, but it might be cool and maybe even camp there for one night, I know in middle canyon there are plenty of places to campout.

Ok I updated the map with some Ideas. Point A will be the meet point. 10757 S Riverfront Parkway in S Jordan. From there we goto 118th south and go straight to bachus hwy towards Heriman, etc We will be avoiding the 9k elevation area and i think the highest we will be is around 8k however I am open to Ideas as far as the route. Point C marks a decent camping spot that we can park quite a few car and still have room for tents or whatever. Point B is the short way to supplies if needed.

Let me know what you guys think

Im down. Has anyone ran this before?

It seems like a pretty steep run. Some places you have 800ft elevation change.

I did it in my jeep a few yrs ago. I'm thinking that you wont be able to get over the top for a few more weeks due to snow. I don't remember how bad the road was, I prob wouldn't do it in my subby. I could be wrong though. Damn cloudy memory

It was my crew's favorite canyon to run all last year. The canyon claimed two cars that tried to keep up with us... Crazy slammed cars need not bother especially with the upper sector. I like to think of it as my tarmac/ gravel stage lol...

That should be fine. I mean if you care about your cars paint job than the upper section past the crest wouldn't be where you wanna take your car. The stupid rednecks and their swamper tires ripped up the roads so they are pretty rutted but if ya make it to the top your rewarded with a kick ass view of the valley.

^ Good to know I was thinking of either the weekend of the 4th of July or the weekend after. I plan on going up there to scout conditions and what not fairly soon. I'm also gonna make some updates on the map as needed.

AHHHHHH!!!!, Good ole Butterfield Canyon. It's a great canyon to attack. Just watch out for loose gravel, wild life and the occasional drunk camper that walks out in the middle of the road.

Also, if you drive a heavy Volvo sedan up there it is completely normal for it to smell of burning plastic at the top.
