Default Disable dinger for seatbelt????

I have a 2008 Legacy GT Spec B. Great car going stage 2 next week 300lb's of torque at the wheels here i come!!!

anyways I cant deal with the piezo speaker that goes off with the seat belts ON BOTH SEATS passenger and driver, as well as when starting the car..

I located the box under the steering wheel where the speaker is but i dont know if removing it is the best idea.. does this 20 lock and unlock work on 08's with the new passenger airbag monitoring system???

and if i did want to remove it or just clip the wire how would i go about removing the box to access the speaker??

in your seatbelt clip there are two wires that ether get connected or disconnect if a seat belt is clipped in.

Just find these wire before they go into the clip and short them or leave them permanantely disconnected.

umm... why not try it? and then if it doesnt work... you could let us know?... just a thought.

And I see no reason why disconnecting the speaker would be such a bad idea... you might lose your key in ignition reminder, but o well.

I know this is a necro... but I just wanted to post in case anyone else was looking.

From this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87540

RexyGirl's method works perfectly... just walked out to the parking lot and did it.

HINTS: Never fully take the seatbelt out of the buckle. Release it and put it right back in. Also, make sure you count when the seat belt is released, not when you put it in.
