OMGHi2U German Castrol = Castrol Syntec 0W30 European Formula?

Are these one in the same? I had no luck with the search. Thanks!

Look on the back for the circular badge. The German stuff has the bottom half empty while most other brands say "energy conserving". I just picked up some european formula that said on the front top in a yellow banner "made for BMW, Audi, VW". On the back it said "european forumula, now made in the US". The euro stuff I got didn't say "energy conserving"

Thanks. For future reference:

The small writing under the circle and SL, SJ, CF says Made in Germany.

The blank portion of the circle is where it says energy conserving on other oils. I don't remember all the details, but something about oils that contain that phrase are class III oils, are a little thinner (less resistance for the engine, but less protection too) and aren't true synthetics, but synthetics based on dino's.

German Castrol will say "European Formula" and "Made in Germany" on the bottle. Good stuff. I like it so far.
