Default 08 STI Control Module Fault

Hi guys

Having electrical problems with my 08 STI electrics

The car runs fine but if you switch the headlights on or press the rear screen de-mister the central locking operates. Also when the car is stationairy the side / running lights power up every twenty seconds then go off (keeps doing this)

The last associated problem is that the rear windscreen wiper will not turn off and operates all the time.

I have taken the car into my local agent and they suspect a control module fault. Has anyone got any further ideas what could be causing these problems

Mike

bad grounds can do very funny things, something to think about.

But I wouldn't mess around with this at all yourself the car is brand new and the dealership should handle this under warranty assuming you haven't messed around with anything electrical.

I agree about possible bad grounding. Try cleaning the battery to chassis ground and also the grounding to the dash area.
