runs great but do not have 4th gear. the car dosen't want to shift to overdrive. great for city car.

Ditto. Get something with a decently low drag coefficient and decent gearing and power to wieght ratio. Subaru XT, 1g avenger/sebring. Something along those lines.

Though if you want a real gas saver

96 Escort Stick
Not the most powerful motor but its a stick and it gets 38mpg on the highway if not better

Shelby Daytona

you could go pass 100mph if you want. the transmission would not downshift below 3000 rpm. if you are doing all highway, this car might not be right for you.
