Default What's the Best Point & Shoot Digital Camera in the $200-$300 range?

I'm about to get a new digital camera to replace my old Nikon E4600. I've heard good things about Casio Exilim EX100 and somewhat good reviews about Nikon S550. Can you guys and gals suggest anything else in that price range or tell me your experiences with these two cameras.

Thanks.

Canon SD 1100 IS

Custom colors, awesome camera, small and compact, just above $200.

Look no further, really.

Truth.

Even less than $200 at times. I saw one on techbargains for $189.

I like my Sony Cyber**** with the Zeiss. It shoots pretty quick.

I just bought this camera a week ago from Circuit City and love it so far. It was either the 11000IS or the 770IS for $50 more, but I decided I didn't really need the extra 2MP. I got it for $180 plus tax, best bang for your buck I'd say!

I'd get a Canon A series with the highest number in your price range. The A series is a little bigger than the sd series but uses AA batteries instead of a Canon rechargeable. This way, when you are out on vacation and you run out of juice, you go to walgreens and spend $5.

Edit: Amazon has the A590IS 8MP for $152.99

Got this from Circuit City, its just like the SD1100IS, but it has a 3 inch LCD screen which is huge.

There shouldn't be any suggestions but Canon!

No one beats them for point and shoot.

Canon FTW.

These were taken with a Canon SD700, while it was in its waterproof case.

I bought the Canon SD1100IS from Circuit City a few weeks ago as well. Took it to NYC for the next weekend. Awesome little camera. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Don't let the rechargeable battery dissuade you. The Canon batteries last forever.

SD1100IS - good for cruising around, fitting a cam in your jeans pocket. Good quality pics, easy to use.

con - not the best in moving situations or low light despite the IS.

<-- usually shoots with XTi, Tamron 17-50, Sigma 10-20, Canon 24-105 L

wow, lots of Canon love.
Would you get SD1100 instead of EX-Z100 even if the Casio has a $50 coupon.
