As the title says, my hazards don't work but my blinkers do. also the chime for my keys being in the ignition when the door is open is gone. Can anyone point me in the direction to correct this problem.
![]() Dealership is out of the question since my car is heavily modified and the local dealer is the WORST in the state (seriously, it is). I tried searching but couldn't find a definite answer, all i found was something about a relay of some sort but so info relating that to the key chime. Any help would be appreciated.

found that horn and hazards are linkind in fuse box. that fuse was blown, replaced said fuse and tried to honk horn...... nothing. Fuse is blown again. I put in a bigger fuse (20A), checked it to make sure it didn't blow immediately, tried honking horn, nothing and fuse is blown again.
Could this be the result of a bad relay or is the problem worse than that? Could this be caused by my 11.5lb braille battery (hazards and horn worked fine with the battery before)?? |

Sounds like a short somewhere... never replace a fuse that keeps blowing with a larger one!
Is your car an 06STI? Take it to the dealership and let them fix it! |

I put in another new fuse and found that the hazards worked but when i pressed the horn it blew. I removed the horn relay and hooked it straight to power to test it and it clicks. The socket for the relay has power where it is supposed to. Could it still be the relay or would more likely be a short after the fuse box? Note that the only electrical mod i have done under the dash is running wiring for my gauges. |

I actually did read the whole thing but I have short term memory loss and forgot it when I was typing
![]() Sounds like the short is in the horn wiring somewhere if that's what caused the fuse to go again. My money would be a short in the relay, relays go bad more often than other things. BTW I don't think a dealership can pin the fuse blowing and deny service on any of your mods, a new battery is not a mod fwiw... |
