I think they started doing the square 6 pin plug thing in 2003... If it's one without the plug, you have to find the right wires and spice in using wire taps

bump, i decided to just tap the factory wires, but i am having trouble..

i used a multimeter to find the correct brake, turn, and parking light wires. no problem.

now, when i connected the trailer module, all i am getting are parking lights. the brakelights, and turn signals are not coming on. i was able to flicker one turn signal on and off for a few seconds, but then it would stop working.

do all 5 wires have to be plugged in for the module to decode them properly? maybe thats my problem? i never had all the wires tapped into the vehicle at any given time. it just started to rain and my car is outside witht the trailer, so i gave up

If so does anyone know where it is located ?
