Default 2005+ 2.5rs intake manifold advice

I am looking into running a 2.5rs intake manifold the one xxtuning uses.

any way to use my BDL top feed fuel rails with this beast?

am going to use a q45 TB do i need to get the DBW version?

any descent guides on what exactly needs to be modified?

Thanks folks.

I'm running that manifold on my EJ257 hybrid setup. I think its great.
As I fitted it a while back I'll check what I did under the hood and maybe get a couple of pics and post them up later.

I was really lucky.
I went to the local rubbish tip to dump some crap and saw a complete manifold just lying there. It was totally complete, injectors, fuel lines, regulator, throttle body.....the lot.
I just picked it up and took it home.

I stripped it down and trimmed off all the extra mounting tabs. I had to weld a plate on to fit my original STI throttle body which was easy enough. The original throttle body was a drive by wire unit which I didnt want.

I ended up re-using the fuel rails from my original sti manifold, they only took a little modification and they fit.
I did have a problem getting the injectors to fit as they sat a little deeper than the sti manifold. I milled off a small section of the manifold in order for the injector electrical plugs to fit.
I did try to originally reverse mount it but soon found it would not let the hood close, the manifold plenum section is just too high. Even when its mounted the normal way it has minimal clearance to the hood.

Once you get the manifold and look inside you will see what a good flow design they are. I have always considered the sti manifold to be compromise as Subaru squashed it in order to fit the TMIC.
The xxtuning type has equally distributed runners in the plenum which are located beside each other based on the firing order of the engine. Each runner also has a nice bellmouth shaped entry inside the plenum. Personally I also think the runners have a larger internal diameter than the old sti manifold originally fitted.

Sounds like you want to build my manifold

Like I believe I stated in my PM, there is quite a bit of stuff you will have to do to get this manifold to work on your car with a 90mm Q45 throttle body. First off even though your bugeye has a 'drive by cable TB" they are no where near the same. The Subaru TB has a MAP sensor built into that the car needs to run. I can get away with this because my Autronic has one built into the board. Second the Q45 TB dose not have an IAC valve so yet again the stock computer will have no clue whats going on. The last sensor on the stock TB is a TPS sensor which lucky the Nissan one has but it has a diffrent connector so you will have to cut it off and re-harness it. Nissan never made a DBW 90mm TB. Your best bet would be to either buy the one form xxtuning for $1100 that will work with your TB or pay someone to weld on and machine out a flange to put on your TB. Here is a pic of a Subaru DBW next to the Nissan 90mm. As for the fuel rails you can either use the ones the manifold comes with or flip your BDL ones upside down and then make a stand off bracket to mount them.

just to put this out there
there is a manifold that will bolt to tgv's with little mods
still have to mod it for dbc throttle body though
but can use wrx fuel rails

understand that just just posting another option
had a dual cam wrx intake on this motor also so this one would fit the wrx also
i have 3 of the full length manifolds that i have tried that style on my car
just was easier with this one because i could run the tgv's with wrx rails
plenum size runner length ends up being the same

yeah seems to be some confusion between our post ,thought people were talking about options for manifolds here
the manifold i posted is off of a 05 the same style as the 05 06 manifold but is made from the factory to bolt onto tgv's ending up with the same runner length and plenum size as the 05 06 manifold that you have to alter the fuel rails

What's the part number for the manifold you have? Is it plastic?
