Thumbs up It looks like I'll finally be joining the ranks of home owners again.

It's been close to four years of paying off old debt incurred when I was self-employed. We finally paid off our final creditor three months ago. This is probably the best time to buy in this area, so we're going for it. They have already said they accept our offer and our realtor should have the accepted offer on paper in his hands today or tomorrow. I'm really excited to be buying again and not renting anymore.

Make sure your new house uses the national standard copper water supply line.

Someone put it in a good light for me today: "If you were to lose your job tomorrow. Would you rather be struggling to pay your mortgage, or struggling to pay your rent?" They have a good point. The housing out here isn't all ****ed up like a lot of places either. If I had to turn around and sell it, it wouldn't be that difficult.

The web hosting is being done from my house. No, those are the pics the seller took and those are the original size. I'll see if I can find some better ones.

Very little. There are a few mansions for short sales/foreclosures in Ledgeview (rich area of Green Bay) and some foreclosures in East Green Bay (typically lower income). Where we are buying is middle of the road and they've only sold like 5 houses in the area in the last year. None of them were shorted or foreclosures, from what I could gather. But, all in all, the housing market out here is steady.

That one I'm going to have to think about. There is a raised deck as you walk out of the dining room area. Below that in the middle of the yard is an area where pavers are in the ground with a firepit in the middle of it all. On one hand, it'd be cool to grill up on the deck but I'm worried about an errant hot coal falling out of the BGE onto the wooden deck. I may put it on the deck and then put a ceramic tile under the opening just in case.

I'll have some better pictures of the deck/back yard up when I get home and I'll update the thread.

Thanks. It was a lot of work, but much more rewarding than going bankrupt.

And, at ink levels. I haven't had those printers for quite some time now, that is why it is showing no ink.

Thank you. It is a unique home. It is more of a split level house. You walk in from the front door or garage and you immediately can walk up to the kitchen/family room/bedrooms area, or walk down to the family room/office/laundry/bedrooms area down there.

yeah, well as long as it isn't losing as much as other place. MY subdivision has lost about 40% of its value in the past 2 years. which is 3x more then the zip code as a whole.

In this situation i'd rather struggle to pay rent, struggling to pay the mortgage is like struggling to make a car payment. Only the car depreciates slower and you can at least DRIVE a car.

Buying a house is the worst decision I've made in my entire life.
