Lightbulb Valve Adjustment Spreadsheet

Hey y'all. I am adjusting the valves in my EJ25D with the bucket lifters and shims, and I made a spreadsheet to help with it. I thought I'd share it with everyone...

I've got it up at google for now, if anyone has a better hosting place, let me know and I'd be happy to move it there where it retains the original format.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pOlZEvONctiaqMDEZEiL0fg&output=xls

EDIT: Google docs kinda messed up a couple of things. If you want the original copy shoot me a PM with the email address you want it sent to. Until I find somewhere to host it that will work =]

Let me know if you have any questions.
Aaron

Don't use this now, I'm correcting a couple of formulas! Also updating the shim SOA item number list. I'll update as soon as it's fixed.

what sort of shim are these. A friend of mine has a engine that he's been working on and Subaru tells him that they don't exist. The car is an 04 wrx but the block is cast EJ25, I didn't look too close at the heads, but I saw the shims they are smaller than anything subaru has listed and they fit under the bucket, they're about half the diameter of the normal suby shims. Any help would be great.

This spreadsheet is for EJ25 N/A motors. Specifically the Phase 1 DOHC motor. The shims on these motors sit on top of the bucket, and ride DIRECTLY on the camshaft.

I know nothing about the under-bucket shims used on other Subaru motors.

As far as SOA not knowing what they are, call another dealer and talk to a different parts guy. If it is a USDM Subaru motor they should know what parts go in it, or be able to look them up. If the parts person didn't know, he's an idiot.

Later WRXs came with 2.5L motors instead of the 2.0L motors, but I'm not sure what year they switched over. If the motor is an '06, make sure the parts counter guy knows that.

As far as I can tell, the version that is linked is correct. (I only fiddled with the English units page, not the metric units.) Did you find an error in the way it works?
